It's Elderflower Cordial Time!

Yummy!

Adapted from the BBC Good Food Magazine

350g fresh raspberries
200g caster sugar
1 lemon sliced
1 orange sliced
225 ml cold water

raspberry

1+1/2 cups raspberries; 1+1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 5 lemons); 1 - 1+1/2 cups sugar; 3 cups cold water.

Try to pick the sloes away from roads and pollution, I use the general recipe of 1lb sloes, 1lb caster sugar and 1 litre of gin - this produces a very sweet drink which is how we like it.

I also use vodka if I have it in - sometimes half vodka/half gin ( I call this sloe ginka for a bit of fun!) you can substitute the sloes for other fruit and the gin for another spirit, my favourite being bramble brandy and I keep meaning to make raspberry vodka which sounds delicious.

2 shots of brandy
or whiskey

3 tsp of honey

1 tea bag

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp sugar

Place all the above ingredients into a large mug and add boiling water.
Let the tea bag steep until it is the desired strength, then remove it.

Good for colds or for the cold weather
